Deirdre is a performer, director from Cork. She has just graduated from MTU Cork School of Music (CSM) with a BA (Hons) Theatre & Drama Studies degree (BATDS).

 

Notable performance credits include: ‘Mrs Ann Putman’ in The Crucible (Dir. Darren Kelleher, Bolt Productions, Cork Everyman, Feb 2022), ‘Mother’ in Machinal (Dir. Darren Kelleher, Bolt Productions, Spike Island, March 2019), ‘Mother’ in Bring Me Back Alive (Dir. Darren Kelleher, A ‘Shine a Light’ and ‘ActorsVision’ Production, Cork Arts Theatre, Nov 2019, Firkin Crane, Oct 2018), and ‘Bad Angel’ in Secrets of My Soul (Dir. Nina Theresa Mendes, ActorsVision Production, Samuel Becket Theatre, Dublin, Feb 2017).

 

This year she wrote and directed her own play for her Self-Devised Theatre Project called “I Don’t Understand!”.

 

Recent roles in training include characters in Grimm Tales by Carol Ann Duffy (MTU BATDS Filmed Final Year Production, Dir. Regina Crowley, Apr 2022), ‘Mags’ in Annie Allen’s World Tour (MTU BATDS Filmed Third Year Production, Dir. Johnny Hanrahan, Feb 2021), and ‘Harriet Kinihen’ in Ratz (MTU BATDS Self-Devised Radio Play, Dir. Leon Danza, Jun 2021).

 

As part of her training at CSM, Deirdre studied a range of work: including Linklater voice work with designated teacher Regina Crowley, accent & dialect work with Irene O’ Mara, practitioners such as Stanislavski, Brecht, Grotowski & Zarrilli among many others. She has also taken workshops in Stage Combat, Alexander Technique & dance workshop with Michael Keegan Dolan (Teac Damsa). In addition to theatre work, Deirdre has also studied acting for camera with ActorsVision
